Cirque Vida is a dynamic, new contemporary circus company blending the virtuosity of the circus, freedom of dance, and power of performance art to create visually stunning pieces celebrating life in all its fascinating and intricate manifestations.

Conceived in the brain of director and founder, Xochitl Sosa prioritizes bringing diverse voices and her own latinx lens to the circus stage.

We need your support to bring a brand new unique and unprecedented circus show to Austin,TX. ‘Ventanas’ will premiere August 2023 for a 2 week run at the Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center in East Austin. With a small cast of 6 performers our talented artists will bring a piece of themselves to the stage. Our rehearsal process begins in the fall of 2022.

Through the dim light of a window, Cirque Vida invites you to glimpse into our lives. Through a combination of dynamic circus, dance and acrobatics our cast explores the complexities of our closest relationships — and familiarity of day-to-day routines. We will pull the curtains back and share with you our most private moments of laughter, pain and vulnerability.

Through a visually stunning presentation join us for a 75 min show centering around the quirky characters of an apartment building as they celebrate life in all it's fascinating and intricate manifestations.

“I grew up in a small apartment building. The building was cheaply made with thin walls, and no overhead lights. The neighbors I regularly interacted with were like characters in a book, each apartment with its own storyline. I share a special bond with the kids I grew up with. Smells and voices wafted easily through the walls and the floorboards. This building gave me glimpses into other people’s world. Divided only by thin walls, ‘Ventanas’ follows the story of an apartment building and it’s inhabitants as their lives flow and intersect.”- Xochitl Sosa

Cirque Vida is a project of love and passion for the art form. We are an emerging company and these first several years will be extremely important to the success of the company.

Making art, especially making good art that values the work of the artists is hard and expensive. The $15,000 raised in this campaign will go toward the production costs and artist salaries of our 2023 production “Ventanas”, as well as our November Cabaret Fundraiser.
