Crocodile River Music's African Arts in Education Programs

We educate, enrich & entertain through the lively music, compelling art and vibrant dance of Africa.

About

African Arts in Education offers three programs:

Our Residency Program offers a wide array of high-energy, interactive activities to students of all ages and capabilities. Our goal is to enable participants to experience the rich cultural offerings of Africa, while encouraging creativity and cooperation with the transformative power of music, dance and art.

Our Community Connections Program reaches audiences beyond schools. We partner with New England area cultural and charitable organizations to facilitate workshops, presentations, and concerts for community events. Special Olympics, Worcester Public Library, Ecotarium, Fuller Museum of Craft, Rivers Edge Art Alliance, and Worcester Community Action Council are a few of our recent partners in our Community Connections Program.

Our Cultural Ambassador Training Program works with graduates of the African Community Education program (ACE) in Worcester, MA. Trainees learn drumming, dancing, performing and teaching, and then are brought to African Arts in Education events as paid interns. Our goal is to provide a path to employment for the next generation of African artists living in Worcester. It is an opportunity for these young people to share their cultural backgrounds, while developing their own careers as arts educators and performers.
