Afros & Audio is building a sustainable future for independent podcast creators and audio professionals—one event, one opportunity, one connection at a time.
Since 2019, the Afros & Audio Podcast Festival has been the first of its kind to center Black indie podcasters and audio creatives while welcoming all who align with our values of equity, collaboration, and creative sovereignty.
Each year, our multi-day festival brings together hundreds of creators and professionals for workshops, live shows, networking events, panels, and celebrations—including the annual Black Podcast Awards. We’ve created a dependable ecosystem of support for podcast creatives at every level—offering exposure, community, and skill-building opportunities that last beyond the event.
As we prepare for our 7th Annual Festival, happening October 16–19, 2025 in Baltimore, MD, we’re raising $15,000 to expand our reach, deepen our impact, and continue building long-term infrastructure for diverse voices in podcasting.
Your donation will help us realize the following:
- A State of Podcasting Brunch for top-tier professionals, companies, creators, and entrepreneurs
- A four-day conference with speaker sessions across four learning tracks
- A Freelancer Marketplace connecting creators with paid opportunities
- Micro-networking activations throughout the year to keep visibility and collaboration alive
- The launch of new digital and AI-powered tools to support podcasters year-round
- Payment for speaker and facilitator honorariums
- Venue deposits, accessibility upgrades, and hybrid tech improvements
- Operational support for a lean team committed to meaningful outcomes
- Festival materials, signage, and merch that elevate the experience and community visibility
Afros & Audio is more than an event. We are a platform for ownership, a strategy for creative sovereignty, and a living archive of innovation, culture, and sound.
Your tax-deductible donation directly supports the growth of this ecosystem—and the future of storytelling, media, and independent audio.
Whether you give $25 or $2,500, you’re helping shape the infrastructure where diverse creators don’t just participate in podcasting—they lead it.
