This musical was inspired by the life of Alexsei Navalny, a Russian dissident who was willing to give his life to help bring Freedom and Democracy to Russia. In February 2024 he was found dead in a remote Russian prison.
The Musical, Alexsei's Quest, picks up his story when he arrives in the afterlife where he is again hounded by his enemies who give him a Quest to find out why it's been so hard to establish Freedom and Democracy in Russia. His "guides" have no intention of letting him complete the quest, so instead of moving on in his spiritual development, he'll spend eternity in a solitary, dank cell. Alexsei must find a way to defeat his captors, answer his Quest, and share his new understanding with those still back on earth fighting for a freer, more democratic
Russia.
