Ancestral Table at Roulette in Brooklyn
January 15-16, 2027 @ 8pm

Ancestral Table is a 5-course communal meal and live interdisciplinary performance that examines the relationships between ecology, migration, cultural inheritance and maternal legacy through my Thai mother’s family recipes. As the meal is served, audiences are immersed in original music entwined with text from my mother’s personal memoirs and film layering personal archives with newly-made media. Through deeply engaged sense memory, storytelling and conviviality, audiences are transported to the sounds, environments, time, space and place of my ancestors.
(Please note: While this family-style meal will have some vegetarian elements, some dishes contain meat and/or shellfish. Courses throughout the meal may also contain eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, gluten/wheat, and/or soy.)

Here’s what attendees had to say about Ancestral Table’s LA premiere:

Ancestral Table is an exceptionally special evening of multi-sensory storytelling for which the actual costs far exceed what I could reasonably charge a typical community member. By making a donation, you will be contributing directly to production expenses (food, cooks, caterers, tech, production staff, equipment rentals, etc), and will help add seats for more community members to join the Ancestral Table experience.

I am extremely grateful to Roulette, NYSCA, Princess Grace Foundation, Café Royal Foundation, National Performance Network and private donors for their foundational contributions to Ancestral Table’s NYC premiere. Your donation of any size helps me cover the remaining costs of bringing this full 5-course dinner and theatrical performance safely over the finish line.

Thank you so much for your support! Your contribution helps me bring Ancestral Table to the community!
