My friend and long-time collaborator, Johnny Butler, and I are presenting a show we made back in 2022 called The Sunbather with the fine folks at  3AM Theatre on October 16 & 17, 2026! 

SUNBATHER 3:00AM is a sci-fi dance-theater work about a scientist who brings a music-making creature into consciousness. At the surface, it appears that the creature is in the scientist's captivity, but as the piece unfolds, the concept of who is conscious and who is captive becomes blurred until we come together to free ourselves. The piece emerges from Johnny live-scoring the first-ever sci-fi film, Georges Méliès’ 1902 silent film, A Trip to the Moon (Le Voyage Dans La Lune), further bending space, time, and reality. 

We developed and premiered the work in Mount Vision, NY at The Visionary, brought it to music venues in Brooklyn, a seaside festival in Leigh-on-Sea, England, and a chapel in Brussels, Belgium. But we have yet to premiere in a dance space in our home base of NYC, nor have we had the chance to share the full experience including the opening film screening.

Now is the moment.

We are inspired and eager to bring SUNBATHER 3:00AM to its next plane of existence at 3AM Theatre. We have an incredible creative team of sound, lighting, and costume designers that will expand the work into an immersive, interdisciplinary theatrical experience.
