Thank you for checking out our campaign! We are Art Haus, a collective of musicians and dancers dedicated to bringing classical music and dance to unique spaces in ways that will blow your mind!  

In 2017 we brought Stravinsky's Rite of Spring to life at Burning Man beneath the Tree of Ténéré. 

In 2018 we shared 3 productions: a new ballet set to Reich’s “Eight Lines” titled We, Human (beneath The Orb), Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition (beneath Baba Yaga's House), and Riley's In C (in collaboration with Radia Lumia).

This year, Art Haus Collective returns to Burning Man with a new fully choreographed performance of Stravinsky's Firebird!

For Firebird we will be performing beneath Wing Portal, a sculpture of transcendence made from the ruins of the 2018 California fires. We are collaborating with the lighting designers of Wing Portal as well as the art car Heavy Meta to create a fully integrated, orchestrated & amplified ballet performance of this magical tale of love and transformation. Choreographer Robert Dekkers is re-interpreting this classic piece to create a gender-fluid universe free from traditional expectations, and full of iridescent magic. We can't wait to present this amazing work at sunset on Tuesday night beneath the giant radiating Wing Portal wings, a true symbol of metamorphosis.

Art Haus Collective has already been fundraising for months through events and private donations, and this is our final fundraising push to ensure that Firebird can fully come to life at Burning Man. The majority of the funds raised here will go towards creating incredible costumes for our dancers.

Our costume designer Christian Squires will be dedicating weeks of his summer to creating brand new spectacular garments for this production, and we need all the help we can get to bring them to life! Please consider donating to support the material costs associated with the creation of these original costumes. We are also looking for crafty people to join our sewing team to help Christian construct the garments, so if you are able to volunteer your time please reach out to us at info@arthausonplaya.com.
