ART Live's concept is to produce entertaining, progressive, and conscience-raising work. Its mission is to present material and artists that entertain, challenge, and inspire. In progress, in the moment,... now.
Art Live is the creative brainchild of actor/producer Jerod Howard.
ART Live broke ground:
In April 2014 a satellite studio space opened to the public with the support of *Artspace, community resident artists, the local arts council, and city officials. Those in attendance experienced original musical, theatrical, and spoken word performances (the last to honor National Poetry Month). Live mural painting and interactive glasswork also allowed the public to engage hands-on, and participate in the evening's creative events.
May 2014 - ART Live featured artist Rob Cordell and guest musicians including an interactive photo shoot/editing session with Oleksy Photography. Design Art by Verdie Harper was also featured.
November 2014 - ART Live co-produced the original stage play, The BenchMark by Emmy-nominated and Gracie award-winning writer/producer Richard A. Roberts. Proceeds went to support services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
May 2015 - Produced the world premiere of "Thee Trinity" at the Jack Benny Center for the Arts (Chicago premiere - the Royal George Theater).
2014 / 2015/ 2016
Monthly events featuring musicians, artists of various mediums, and or spoken word.
Early 2016 - actual studio space changed hands to The Mic.
Present - Art Live Studios' focus is independent production, entertainingly engaging to include socially conscious material. For example, a potential touring production of Richard A. Robert's "The BenchMark" explores the much-relevant issue of homelessness and its impact on individuals and society.
With continued support, ART Live will strive to produce projects connecting artists, storytellers, and more with communities or venues seeking to raise their artistic involvement or support.
To culturally elevate through the magical relationship created by the live artistic experience.
To be a platform for established and emerging artists... supporting collaboration with other artists and entities.
To realize the long-term benefits of imagining, developing, and presenting a live theatrical experience. Primarily, the opening of a memorable dialogue with the public that will not only entertain but continue to inspire.
