About

Playing is a state of awareness as fundamental as the fabric of societal connective tissue. In ancient times, music was less about performance than it is now. Music was more about connection, enjoyment and storytelling. PlayEology carries the ethos that organized PLAY, MOVEMENT, and SINGING is the shortest distance between hearts. The less distance there is between us, the happier we are. It is said that authoritarianism cannot take hold within a society that is happy. In this small way, PlayEology brings a splash of happiness into the ocean of humanity.

Playeology focuses on facilitating groups of YOUTH AND ADULTS by jump starting their memory of how to play. PlayEology synthesizes musical models from Bobby McFerrin and Rhiannon’s bodies of work and incorporates Musica Do Circulo musical games, non-verbal communication, pedagogy of cooperation as well as indigenous ceremony into it’s ethos of Play.  The vision is for expanding connection and increasing capacity for Joy in our world. This aim is achieved by creating space and time for organized play, using music as a bridge.

Public Benefit | The project has two prongs

First, the PlayEology project allows for sessions to be workshopped regionally that invite community members to come and decompress, connect with neighbors and feed their hearts and spirits through facilitated improvisational singing, movement and musical games.

Second, the PlayEology project will bring public benefit by delivering musical experiences to public schools where music has been removed from curriculum and NGO spaces that serve community focusing on youth. The intent is to infuse harmony, cooperation, listening and collaboration into communities directly.
