The Brooklyn Music & Leadership Institute is a band company. Operating like that of a Philharmonic Orchestra, it is our mission to give back to the black and minority communities in the form of competitive, structured ensembles which are built around the New York State Learning Standards for the Arts.
The Brooklyn Music and Leadership Institute is a bridge for minorities to utilize in order to navigate through the weeds of their world as they enter college, establish professional and entrepreneurial careers, and develop and maintain healthy life choices.
Our project's goal is to raise enough funds to build a world-class Black Julliard Conservatory of Music at Eastern Parkway and Bedford Avenue in 11225 Brooklyn, NY. We want to raise funds for the construction of this necessary facility, to conserve the dying art forms of African-American instrumental music that we teach.
We place music programs in communities where innovation is cultivated, through immersive class experiences. We have a proud heritage of championships, and national awards. We are also, most proud of our ensemble experiences, which are amongst the best in the New York City Region, for minority youth and their families.
The Brooklyn Music and Leadership Institute uses donations to provide camps, band uniforms, dance uniforms, practice uniforms, special programming, musical instruments, music ensemble drill books, music ensemble method books, percussion ensemble international rudiment books, travel, logistics & operations, nutrition, expert speakers, student seminars, music instrument accessories, mouthpieces, drum sticks, instrument repair, uniform cleaning, garment bags, garment racks, music stands, storage lockers, master supervision, background checks of team members, parade entry fees, competition entry fees, college audition fees, scholarship fund, real estate, construction, insurance, accounting, and facilities management.
