Written and directed by Connor Reveley, Brother of the Bride is an independent micro-budget found-footage dark comedy exploring the hilarious and often confounding absurdity of influencer culture.  

Brother of the Bride aims to put influencers — more specifically, YouTube vloggers — under a satirical microscope, finding comedy in the cringe and humanizing what often appears to be a very performative way to live. Influencers have become ubiquitous in our society, and we feel that it's never been a better time to explore this topic.  

We are a team of long-term collaborators trained in the rigors of conservatory filmmaking, backed by Shawn Harwell as Executive Producer, whose writing credits include the political satire comedy The Campaign, starring Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis, Amazon's Red Oaks, and Eastbound and Down. We are blending the scrappy, high-energy spirit of a debut film with the professional rigor of seasoned Hollywood talent—ensuring a project that is as technically sound as it is creatively fearless.

We have chosen to film in Connor's home state of New Mexico to take advantage of a robust, refundable tax credit that significantly offsets our production costs. If we are cleared, we will receive a 25% refundable tax credit on all qualified in-state expenditures. This includes New Mexico resident crew wages, equipment rentals from local vendors, and location fees. And because we're choosing to film 60 miles outside of the Albuquerque and Santa Fe areas, our credit jumps to 35%, which is money we can put directly back into things like post-production and film festival application fees. 

Our budget is engineered to maximize production value per dollar, ensuring that every cent of your contribution is visible on screen. By focusing most of our initial funding on the physical production phase, we will prioritize our 2026 shoot in New Mexico and utilize the tax credit refund for post-production. 

This crowdfunding campaign marks the start of a sprint towards our summer shoot. We have an intensive six-week Pre-Production window (June 1st – July 12th) for final casting and New Mexico location scouting. Principal Photography will take place from July 13th to July 31st, capturing the film’s "found footage" satire in a high-energy three-week shoot. Following production, the project enters an aggressive Post-Production phase from August through October to craft a submittable edit for film festivals, aiming for a Festival Premiere in early 2027.
