I perceive my work as whimsically abstract. My choreography explores visual art concepts and values, the nuances of the moving body, and the unique individuality of each dancer I work with. I craft my dances through a conscious use of space, proximity, and strokes of bodily geometry. I am intrigued by the lives of lines and the imaginative embodiment of color theory. I ask my dancers to work within impossible scores and tasks in order to find new vocabularies within the absurd. I investigate how I can support this visual and impossible way of making by artistically accessing the unique ways each dancer navigates the terrain of their body.
