Inspire is embarking on our most ambitious project yet with our season three finale on May 29, 2020.

"Can't You Hear Us?!",  will feature a large-scale music commissioning project in partnership with Urban Word NYC, 350NYC, and The New York Society for Ethical Culture. This multi-piece commission will be a joint venture between local composers, Urban Word youth poets, experts from 350NYC, and Inspire’s own artists.

This project is particularly valuable because:

  • There is a lack of socially conscious quality choral repertoire in the literature and a desire in the choral community for it to exist and be performed.
  • It unites two of our previous partners with a new one, deepening our existing relationships while widening the scope of community building that Inspire can facilitate.
  • It provides a platform for the voices of those who will be most profoundly affected by the current climate crisis, should it continue unchecked: our youth.

Commissioning is a costly endeavor, as is the effort required to bring so many different organizations together. This is why we are asking for your help to do it right.

Please peruse the rewards to the right and consider supporting our poets, composers, venue rentals, and reception in exchange for some exciting rewards including:

  • An "Inspire Our Future" Tote Bag,
  • A signed manuscript of one of our new commissions
  • A signed poem by one of our Urban Word Poets
  • Tickets to our May 29 concert, "Can you Hear Us?!"

To accomplish our musical and community development goals and to share the transformative power of music through unforgettable performances, visionary creative work and community partnerships, we are seeking to raise $5,000. Now more than ever, we need your support to ensure we have the resources to realize our goals.
