 Thank You

First of all, we would like to say thank you so much for all your support this last year and a half. We have had such an incredible time at San Diego International Fringe Festival and touring Renaissance Faires and it's all because of you. Thank you for getting this dream and this little company going. We cannot believe how much we've accomplished is such a short period of time and we are so grateful.

What's Next?

The feedback we received from 79 Ways to Die was eye-opening. We originally went into it with the simple goal of entertaining people and making them laugh. However, the path it is led us down has become so much more.

One of the consistent responses to our show was audience members telling us they wanted to learn more about Shakespeare. So it drove us to ask the question - "what has hampered their interest until now?" The things we learned have shifted our focus and inspired us to expand.

Our concern is making classic literature more accessible to people of color and those with learning disabilities. We feel schools are failing and losing a valuable point of view by alienating minorities with language that is difficult for non native speakers. This is especially concerning as we leave them out of the conversation - a conversation that is often about them.

For those with learning disabilities we recognize that keeping them engaged and encouraged is essential to their learning success. Our goal is to take learning out of a traditional classroom and put it in an environment where they are excited to learn.

Our goal is to make literature available to everyone for analysis and discussion without asking them to read the challenging language that is typically a road block.

The goal of literature to learn something about ourselves, our relationship, and society. It helps us grow into empathetic people who think deeply about the world around us and feel connected and responsible for it. We do not need language as a barrier. Our mission is to remove this barrier.

We present literary education as entertainment. Literature was meant to be a form of entertainment and we believe it should still be treated that way.

Because of this, we are embarking on some new projects and would love your help in getting them off the ground.

Too Long; Didn't Read
Our first new project will turn away from making fun of Shakespeare and instead make fun of the entirety of English Literature. If you've every sat in a classroom feeling like the book you're assigned to read has completely forgotten about your point of view because you're not white, straight, and male, this is the show for you!

We'll make sure you're ready to take that test or write that essay while also remembering that you probably weren't the audience that book was meant for because the audience it was intended for is boring as hell.

We will be premiering this on YouTube as an ongoing series with the goal of bringing it to bars and theatres as an improvised clowning show a la 79 Ways to Die.

Ophelia is Going to Drown
Ophelia Flyer.jpg 256.28 KB
Ophelia is Going to Drown is a one woman show about Ophelia from Shakespeare’s Hamlet. And she’s going to drown. With gentleness, comedic wit, and ferocious honesty, Ophelia explores the complexities of heartbreak, abuse, and suicide.

Ophelia is tired of dying offstage. She’s tired of all the art idolizing and beautifying her suicide. She’s tired of Hamlet. This time, she intends to tell the story the way she would have wanted it told. She intends to right all the wrongs done to Shakespeare’s women. And she intends to die onstage, with everyone watching.

Our goal is to premiere this at Fringe Festivals in 2025.

Where is Your Money Going?
Lastly, we would like to remind you that taking care of our artists is our priority. Many of us make all of our income from being freelance performing artists and getting paid to perform is how we live inside. Because of this, all the money we have made from every show and festival we've done, has gone directly to the artists. Theatre of Mutiny has not kept performance funds for ourselves.

We depend on you, our donors, to keep our company running and get new projects off the ground. Much of our fundraising will go to things like insurance, website, and venue rentals so we can continue to insure our artists are compensated for the tireless work they put into creating.

Do ya'll remember when we were gonna do all the deaths with blood packets? Because we sure do. Only a very small handful of people got to see that version of the show. Like literally 28 people saw it. It has been hidden away never to see the light of day. But now, for just a minor donation, you will get a copy of that unearthed, secret video. See why we're so glad we stopped doing that.

To Thine Own Self Be True

Did Polonius give Laertes good advice or was he just a rambling old man? That's debatable.

What's more important is all the characters in Shakespeare's plays whose advice we're missing out on. Like these two. Who wouldn't want relationship advice from Romeo or Juliet?

With this tier, you can ask one of these characters for advice on any topic. We will follow you on Instagram and share a video with their advice. We promise not to give away your identity.

You can also request advice from either of the narrators. They've clearly made some terrible decisions in their lives. Hopefully they have some life lessons and wisdom to pass on. (no they don't)

You will also receive all rewards for the lower tiers:
- Video Link to our Secret Blood Show
