Han's project 140.58% funded!

Dear donors to Lei Liang's A Book of Time I concert,

It is now an hour before the campaign closes. I am more than thrilled to announce that the campaign reached the initial $3000 goal and is now 140.58% funded. I appreciate your contribution so much! I feel so lucky to have my project valued by the general public, and your support means tremendously to the contemporary classical music. I can't wait to plunge into the practice period as there are only less than three months left to the concert. Please find the donors' list on my website. Thank you again for being supportive to my musical journey, and, if you would like, please sign up my newsletter here to receive my quarterly newsletter.

With warm regards,
Han

Two years ago, I began planning to present a new solo piano work commissioned from New York Times-featured composer Lei Lang. Finally, after much trial and tribulation, it's been set: I will give the world premiere next year on February 28th at the Scandinavia House, presented by Piano on Park.

This new work is much more than simply another piano piece. Lei, a top-tier composer and winner of the prestigious Grawemeyer Award, used state-of-the-art technology at his Lei Lab at UC San Diego to analyze 188 minerals and capture their harmonies. Those voices of nature are what he transcribed to the piano---hearing it makes the heart tremble with fear and joy, as if the earth itself speaks. The result, titled A Book of Time I, is a 20-minute, substantial masterpiece that will undoubtedly remain in the literature for years to come.

I am thrilled, therefore, to invite you to walk this journey with me. Given the project's unparalleled scale, additional financial support would be an immense help to get it past the finish line. We are aiming to raise another $3,000 through my fiscal sponsorship to ensure this concert's success, in addition to support from the ProStar Group, the Foundation for Chinese Performing Arts, and other private donors. Every contribution is deeply appreciated (and also tax-deductible!), even if it's just spreading the word, and I am truly grateful for all your help in realizing this once-in-a-lifetime experience for us all.

Thank you, truly, for your support, and I look forward to achieving this musical milestone together!
