Carnac is a field of 1,000 solar-powered forms—each a concrete base, an acrylic rod, and laser-cut translucent shapes—arranged in a grid across the playa, inspired by the prehistoric stone alignments at Carnac, France. It asks what we encode into landscape, and how meaning emerges as people move through repetition and rhythm.
Carnac

The work is built in the open. During fabrication and installation, anyone who wants to participate can join—no invitation, no credential, just the work and whoever shows up. That radical openness is the heart of the piece: a monument to what people make when the door is left open.

Fabrication is underway now at our San Anselmo workshop, with delivery set for August 2026. Carnac operates under fiscal sponsorship and is free and open to the public. Your support funds materials, fabrication, and transport for all 1,000 forms—and helps keep the build open to everyone.
