In 2020, Clocks in Motion set the ambitious goal of raising $10,000 in celebration of our upcoming 10th Anniversary Concert Season. As of now, we have reached 50% of our goal and have $5000 more to raise before January 1st.
We have an anonymous donor who has pledged $2500 in matching funds. Every donation between now and January 1st 2021 will be DOUBLED by our anonymous donor. That means that if we raise $2500 dollars before January 1st we will effectively reach our $10,000 goal for the upcoming year!
There has never been a better time to donate to Clocks in Motion! The COVID-19 crisis has had a negative impact on so many businesses and arts organizations and ours is no different. With live performances cancelled for nearly an entire calendar year and possibly longer, our organization is losing out on about 90% of our revenue. These donations will go directly towards creative projects in 2021 and will enable Clocks in Motion to continue forward despite the difficulties placed on our organization.
What does Clocks in Motion have planned for 2021? Currently, Clocks in Motion's engages in an ongoing four-year collaboration with composer, Jennifer Bellor as part of our Clock Shop initiative. This Spring, in 2021, we are scheduled to record a full length album of her music written specifically for Clocks in Motion. This electro-acoustic concept album will feature three new major works for percussion quartet full of beauty and lyricism as found in Bellor's signature style. Your donations will directly go towards funding the release of this new album.
When will we be able to perform live again? It's really anybody's guess as to when the world will return to "normal". Rest assured, we have a plan for returning to live performance as soon as the world seems safe enough for a return to live audiences. In the meantime, we are investing in ways to present more remote performances and engagements with the world. 2020 presented many new challenges and internal changes for Clocks in Motion. We sincerely hope you will consider joining us and staying with us for our next decade of creative projects. Clocks in Motion is a labor of love for the performing members AND for our supporters. Your donations keep the dream alive and enable us to continue creating music that matters so deeply to all of us.
