About Me
I’m Michael Curtis Jr, a filmmaker originating from The Bronx, NY. Growing up going to public school in NYC we didn't learn much about the history of black people beyond slavery and Martin Luther King. The media was no better, as there were barely any black figures to look up to. It was only because of my family’s roots in Harlem and my own exploration that I was able to learn and connect with our history. As I continue to dive deeper into my exploration of the arts, I want to bring forward and uplift voices in the community, while spreading awareness of social issues. I hope my film Color Blind can push communities together and inspire more black voices as they realize the power we hold when we don't isolate ourselves.
Why Donate?
Donating not only supports the film, but also a stand against government corruption and political silence. It seems everyday there is a new story about the dismantling of our rights, unjust treatment of immigrants, and giant corporations continuing to suck up power and control in order to gain more control over our lives. If you've been looking for a way to contribute to any fight against the injustice happening around the world then this film can be your form of protest. Art has the power to influence and inspire, as proven time and time again. The money raised will go to feeding cast & crew, promoting the film, and creating the world of Color Blind.
