This year I have the opportunity to produce two of my own original plays.
First up is Compulsion which will be premiering in August during NYSummerfest at the Hudson Guild Theatre. Compulsion had its virtual premiere in March of this year during the Irondale On Women Festival where it placed fourth overall in the New Media Storytelling category. Compulsion tells the story of Alex, a young woman struggling with OCD. It follows her through the course of a night while she struggles to determine why this is happening to her. It's a deeply personal story for me as I continue on my own mental health journey and I'm excited to share it for the first time in front of a live audience.

Then in October my first full length show REVOLUTION is premiering at the Tank Theatre. REVOLUTION follows a young couple, Joseph and Masika, as they live through the 2011 and 2013 Egyptian revolutions. Culminating in the Rabaa Square massacre, the play is told in three acts from three perspectives: Act one is from Masika's, Act 2 is told through movement, and Act 3 continues the story through Joseph's. This play means the world to me and I'm excited to see it fully realized later this year.

These are important opportunities for me to grow as playwright, director, and producer. I'm excited to be able to share these works with the theatre world to have the support of my friends, family, and colleagues makes it much more special.
