    Why It Matters
An exploration of female sexuality and the manifestations of it -- from prostitution to teenage yearning and everything in between -- “Dirty Blonde” challenges how quick society is to define our identities… and how quick it is to assign often-judgemental, shallow labels to women.

In an era of #MeToo and #TimesUp, where women are finally able to rise and reclaim their power, their dreams, and their desires, we couldn’t have picked a better time to tell this story. Giving industry opportunity to a vastly female cast and crew, I hope that this film can empower young women to reclaim whatever it is that’s been made dirty to them.

    Director's Statement
This idea of coming to terms with your dirt - with all the despicable things about yourself that everyone tells you to hide - and learning instead to cherish it, is intensely personal to me. Growing up in a small town, my peers were clad in blue jeans and intolerance, constantly laughing at the bows I wore in my hair, the clothes my mother picked for me... or the outward longing I had to live in New York City.

In this way, I was dirty. From my hair to my clothes to my dreams. I had to learn to unpack those things, my dirty ugly differences, and choose to love them openly.

Although Shaye’s circumstances are entirely different from mine, her story is the same. “Dirty Blonde” is her journey towards loving all the makeup, the clothes, the life that everyone tells her is wrong.

While we’ve been fortunate enough to raise the 60% of our budget through grants, personal savings, and othe generous charitable donations, we’re still looking for your help to bridge this final gap. The funds we hope to raise with THIS campaign will specifically go towards the travel and transportation costs it takes to transport a cast and crew to our “dirty” set in North Carolina.

With your donations, you’ll be helping us to cover:
    • Transportation (both ground and air)
    • On-Location Vehicle Rental
    • Lodging & accommodations
    • Food & catering
    • Gas
    • And more!

Check out some of the exclusive reward tiers we’re offering on the right hand side of this page - and remember, they’re tax-deductible! You can also always donate an amount of your choice if it isn’t already listed!
    Other Ways You Can Help
If you can’t make a monetary contribution, there are still tons of ways you can get involved with our project!

We can heavily reduce our budget through in-kind donations. Right now, we’re looking for any of the following who might be willing to waive their fee (especially those in New York, and North Carolina):

    • Furniture Stores
    • Carpet Carriers
    • Wallpaper Companies
    • Beauty Supply Stores
    • Thrift & Second-Hand Stores
    • Caterers (free food, thank the heavens!)

With the help of Fractured Atlas, we can additionally offer tax deductions for the value of select in-kind donations! Reach out to our email below to get more details on this process.

Beyond that, the MOST important thing you can do for us: share this page!!! With friends, family, neighbors, and anyone in between… spread the word!
