Love Notes 4 Philly

ePOP is bringing back Love Notes one last time! Our 4th and final concert in the series will take place at Society Hill Dance Academy on January 11, 2025.

You may remember our first 3 Love Notes concerts:
During the first winter of the covid pandemic, we brought you Love Notes, a virtual cabaret featuring world-class opera artists singing songs all about love.

The following year, we brought you Love Notes 2.0… Sour Notes, which focused on the real and less than ideal side of love. With both virtual and in person formats, we were able to reach a wider audience while highlighting Philly-based artists.

Last year, we were back with Love Notes 3: Notes to Self, a contemplation on self-reflection, struggle, and growth… with a little levity and humor mixed in.

As you can see, our series has been a theme and variations on love. That which we share with lovers, that which we share with and for ourselves, that which destroys us. To close out our series, it seemed fitting to end with the greatest love of all: that which we share with one another. The love of community.

What does the love of a community look like? Action. Action made manifest. It is leaning on one another when we cannot stand on our own. Love Notes 4 Philly will not only be a performance, but a manner of fostering community that extends beyond us, allowing us to find actions we can continue beyond our night together. At the show, we will connect our audience to several mutual aid groups in Philadelphia, and to the direct work needed to uplift them. That is love made manifest.

Our cabaret will feature incredible Philadelphia artists who will offer refuge and catharsis amid works ranging from Simon and Garfunkle to the Chevalier de Saint Georges, and many more.

Our artists include artists from past Love Notes concerts: soprano Ashley Marie Robillard, mezzo-soprano Maren Montalbano, soprano Katrina Thurman, and ePOP music director, Aurelien Eulert. Cookie Diorio returns as our host for the evening, and Omar Saleem is back as our beatmaker, DJ, and co-creator. And introducing, baritone Johnathan McCullough.

Our funding comes from individual donors like you! A gift of any amount makes a huge difference to our independent, artist founded company.

Your donations will go straight to paying the artists first. We have 7 stellar artists as well as a graphic designer and a photographer that are lending their brilliance to bring these performances to life.

The Breakdown:
Artists Fees: $4,200
Photography, Music Arrangements, Music Purchase: $725
Graphic Design, PR & Marketing, Ticketing Fees: $650
Venue related costs (rental, insurance): $2,750
Equipment & Supplies: $615
Total: $8,940

We believe in providing fair compensation for performing artists. Your support helps provide opportunities and a fair wage for our incredible artists.

Stretch Goal:
Although $6,500 will be an incredible help, we would be ecstatic to reach for a goal of $8,940. That extra $2,440 would help us cover all our costs!

A gift of any size is amazing and we appreciate your help in spreading the word!

Thank you for being on this journey with us. We can't wait to share Love Notes 4 Philly with you!

About East Passyunk Opera Project (ePOP):
East Passyunk Opera Project was developed to create opportunities to bring opera off the stage and into Philadelphia communities. We bring the art form up close and personal in order to build a more intimate level of engagement between audiences, the artists, and the music.

From our first packed house concert in December of 2019, we quickly pivoted to alternative venues in 2020 and staged successful outdoor performances as well as digital productions.
Our mission is to expand community awareness and access to opera, musical theater, and art song by collaborating with exceptional performance and visual artists paired with unique venues to bring innovative, accessible, and free or low-cost performances to Philadelphia audiences.
