Thank you for taking an interest in the Effigies project for Burning Man 2022. It's been 3 years since the last official Burning Man event and the last time our collective 'Twilight Language' brought art to the Black Rock City playa. So needless to say, we're excited and very hopeful.
Who we are
We are a collective of creators on a mission to realize conceptual visual art and cultivate energy around it. Our passion is to create bold, interactive, innovative, and novel experiences.
Our previous project 'The Man's Army' was a 2019 BM art grant recipient.
This year we’re entirely self-funding this project which is why we’re relying on our community to help us realize the vision and the mission to bring ‘Effigies’ to Burning Man 2022 which is where you come in.
How we use your donation
We’re looking to raise $6,000. These funds will help cover the cost of materials, equipment rentals and transportation logistics to get ‘Effigies’ from their studio in Southern California to the playa. As we’ve all seen the costs of nearly everything is so much higher nowadays than they were even just a few years ago. So too are our production and transportation fees. Here's a detailed breakdown of our costs:
We’re offering up some rather nice perks for your generous contribution including some Burning Man ‘swag’ such as bottled playa dust, pendants, as well as photographic prints of the piece installed on the playa of Black Rock City. And perhaps more importantly - your donations are tax deductible! Our fiscal sponsor Fractured Atlas is a certified 501c3 non-profit so you can donate knowing you get that added benefit.
Our Vision
We know these are difficult times for many of us, but we feel strongly that there needs to be space for radical expression and creativity, not despite all the perils in our country but because of them. We want to continue to bring art to the Burning Man community, share the stories and messages they telegraph, and inspire others to also create, build and foster community.
