This November, experience HARBOR, a unique collaboration between Emissary Quartet (four flutists) and Synchronous (five dancers). HARBOR builds off of a previous collaboration between EQ and Synchronous, UTILITY, which premiered in April 2024. This first collaboration explored the concept that, although individuals are generally under the scrutiny of daily perception, small, fleeting interactions are free from the pressures of observation and their function is to unite. HARBOR further builds on how these moments can create safety and a sense of protection between the individuals involved. We aim to question and further understand the relationship between physical space, people, and emotional safety.

Audience members are free to move through the venue, choosing their vantage point as flutists and dancers weave together shifting vignettes of sound and movement. Each moment is designed to immerse you, bringing you face-to-face with artistry that blurs the boundaries between performer and observer.
