As we look back on 2025, I’m struck by how much movement, collaboration, and transformation this year held. From premieres in Nashville, Sofia, London, and Gothenburg to workshops across three countries, each project was made possible by the people who believe in this work.

2025 Year in Motion — Reflection

This year held 8 creative processes, 5 premieres, 15 performances, 6 workshops, 2 film events, and 2 networking engagements, each marking a step forward in collaboration, artistry, and exchange. From the first workshop in January to the final premiere in December, the work continued to evolve across borders, stages, and communities.

January – Setting the Stage
The year began with intention: a pitch to US presenters, follow-ups from the end-of-year campaign, and the first workshop at Vanderbilt Divinity School, Moving Through. Creation continued with the DancEast Youth Ensemble, and preparations began for the Initial Dissent Nashville premiere.

March – Moving Outwards
The DancEast Company premiered Running Out, and rehearsals began for Initial Dissent and Feminal. A masterclass with DancEast Company offered space to share the process, and early preparations started for Apparatus in Sofia with Alma Alter Theatre.

April – New Ground in Bulgaria
Travel to Sofia marked the start of Apparatus’s creation with Alma Alter Theatre. A conversation with Bulgarian National Radio introduced the collaboration to new audiences, while Feminal entered its final phase of preparation for its London run.

May – Performances in Three Countries
May brought seven performances across three countries: Apparatus premiered in Sofia, Feminal ran for four nights in London, and Initial Dissent debuted in Nashville. A repertory workshop in Nashville offered artists hands-on exploration of Enactor Productions’ methods.

June – Fire and Film
The creation of The Fire Cycle: A Ritual in Progress came to life through two live performances and the screening of The Fire Cycle: Epiclesis at Millennium Film Workshop in New York City. Preparations also began for a new short film connected to the cycle.

July – Mellow Drama and Summer Creations
Mellow Drama premiered at Kindling Arts Festival with two performances. The Fire Cycle film project entered production stages, blending ritual and cinema.

August – To Europe Again
Film work wrapped, and Enactor returned to the stage at the Stockholm Fringe Festival, extending the year’s reach into Scandinavia.

September – Gothenburg and Growth
Three Enactor performances at Gothenburg Fringe Festival anchored the month, alongside two Physical Processing workshops in Gothenburg and Nashville. The TN Presenters’ Arts Conversation offered a moment to connect with local and regional arts leaders.

October – Reconnection in Sofia
Apparatus returned for the Alter Ego Festival in Sofia, paired with a new creation alongside independent artist Mihail Bonev. A repertory workshop at the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in Sofia deepened artistic exchange.

November – Drawing Connections
Enactor traveled to the Chattanooga Fringe Festival, while the Solus creation process continued in Nashville, preparing for its world premiere.

December – Closing the Circle
The year concluded with the world premiere of Solus at OZ Arts Nashville. Reflection turned toward 2026, with projects in motion for new collaborations, touring opportunities, and international exchanges.

Looking Ahead to 2026

Plans are already in motion for new multi-disciplinary collaborations with Nashville-based artists and The Fire Cycle’s new film premiere. Sacral Series encores and entry into the US touring circuit are on the horizon, along with more international creative exchanges. I am excited to continue work with unique festivals, residencies, and projects that are set to shape what comes next. Another year of movement, creation, and connection.
