SUPPORT THESE YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS — AND THE FUTURE OF ENOUGH!
Six teens. Six plays. One night to confront America's gun violence crisis.
On
October 6, 2025, communities nationwide will stage six bold new plays written by teen playwrights who refuse to stay silent as part of ENOUGH!'s
Nationwide Reading.
These young writers—
Abby, Matias, Ian, Payton Aurora, Pace, and
Olivia—were chosen from 127 submissions by a selection committee that included award-winning playwrights
Kate Hamill,
James Ijames, and
Karen Zacarías, Broadway dramaturg
Ken Cerniglia,
New York Times-bestselling author
Jason Reynolds, and
Congresswoman Gabby Giffords. Their work will be published by Concord Theatricals and performed in dozens of communities across the country.
These works don't just entertain—they confront the gun violence crisis with work that will spark critical conversations and inspire meaningful action that can change minds, communities, and futures. They will spark difficult conversations about gun violence and the urgent issues it intersects with:
racial justice, mental health, domestic violence, community safety, and youth empowerment. This is their national stage. And your gift today will help them seize it and make it possible for their voices to be heard.
$20,000 GOAL—DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT NOW
- The first $10,000 will be matched by the CIVIS Foundation, with their gift going to the ENOUGH! Future Fund — ensuring these plays are used for years to come in classrooms, advocacy efforts, and legislative conversations.
- The next $2,000 raised after we hit $10K will be matched by Change The Ref, founded by Manuel and Patricia Oliver in honor of their son Joaquin, who was murdered in the Parkland school shooting.

This is the Moment
Gun violence is not inevitable. It does not have to be our nation's story.
October 6 isn't just a night of theater—it’s a rallying point. It's how we say: We see the crisis. We hear our youth. We believe in community. And we act.
We Adapted — and We're Stronger For It
Originally, we planned to host our flagship at the Kennedy Center. But when the Trump administration took over leadership, priorities shifted. Partnerships like ours — rooted in equity, youth empowerment, and truth-telling — lost their place. Resources vanished. Whole departments disappeared.
So we did what ENOUGH! always does: we adapted. We walked away from the big-name stage to create a flagship that stays true to our values, amplifies teen playwrights on our terms, and reaches audiences ready to act.
What Your Support Matters Now
Without a major institution underwriting the event, we’re counting on our community to power the moment. Your gift will ensure these plays are performed nationwide and that this year’s playwrights have a national platform worthy of their voices.
Beyond Gun Violence
ENOUGH! doesn’t just address gun violence — it tackles everything it touches: racial justice, mental health, domestic violence, community safety, and youth empowerment. And it’s FREE for communities to participate because we provide the plays and resources to make it possible.
The Ripple Effect
Audiences leave our Nationwide Readings with their eyes opened — inspired by stories that statistics and headlines can’t match. These moments can turn passive spectators into passionate actors for change.
Are we “preaching to the choir?” Maybe. But too many in the choir aren’t singing.
ENOUGH! gets them to sing.
