A New Home!
We are proud to announce we've found a new, permanent home for Evangeline Theater Company in the heart of Mandeville! Our theater home is located at 2635 N. Causeway Blvd, right next to South Paws Veterinary Clinic, in the same center with Geico and Edward Jones. We are centrally located along Hwy 190, just minutes from the Causeway and I-12, conveniently located for our patrons on the Northshore.
Our Work Begins
Now, the real work begins- transforming our space into a professional-quality 72-seat theater. This is where we need your support. Your tax-deductible donation will go towards our renovation and reaching our goal of opening our doors in our new location. We're installing an additional bathroom, making our ceilings higher and our space brighter with new paint, new colors, and new lighting. We're also creating a lobby space where patrons can check in, relax, and enjoy concessions before shows and at intermission.
Who We Are
Our company was founded after a conversation between founder Gordon Carmadelle and his father, who shared a connection over Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. That same Williams' classic was also our first show, produced on stage in Santa Barbara, CA back in 2010. Founded as Nola Productions, the company became Evangeline Theater Company upon our return home to Louisiana, and we've continued our mission of bringing professional quality theater to our patrons, casts, and crews.
In the past, we've brought you shows like Chicago, Rock of Ages, All My Sons, and A Streetcar Named Desire, along with Junior shows like Elf Jr and Descendants. We're planning an exciting inaugural season in our new home for you, and we need your support to bring it to the stage.
Meet our Team
Gordon and Emily Carmadelle have produced, directed, and acted in theater all across the country, in cities like Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Dallas. Both have served as theater educators here in Louisiana, teaching theater and creating and directing summer camp programs, plays, and musicals for high school students.
In addition, this producing/directing team has been creating quality theater here locally under the Evangeline banner since 2017, through both our Mainstage shows and our Junior shows for younger performers.
.
What We Need
Here are the items your donations will go towards, just to name a few:
- renovation costs for an additional ADA-compliant restroom
- lighting and sound equipment, including a lighting console, LED lighting instruments, and new speakers
- creating a stage and seating risers, which will be the home of our amazing vintage theater seats, which were original to the Saegner Theater in New Orleans
- creating a concession counter with needed equipment, including a beverage cooler
- obtaining rights for our wonderful season of plays and musicals
- paint and construction materials
- a new, led sign that will light the way to our new home!
