Fabric on the Beach brings free, live performance to audiences in unexpected places. A cast of eight dancers will perform under a 1000-foot net that transforms Rockaway Beach into an immersive, kaleidoscopic stage. Beachgoers and audience members are encouraged to explore this new environment as the performance unfolds over a mile of evolving shoreline. Fabric on the Beach invites us to tap into our community in the face of shifting attitudes towards productivity, leisure time, social connection, and the space we occupy. Coinciding with the setting sun, this performance will move you and move with you to renew a sense of discovery in our everyday world.

We are raising funds to compensate our dancers for their rehearsal and performance time, as well as cover the costs of our materials. This project has been entirely self-produced and funded to date, and my dancers have donated their time and energy without expecting financial return. This work is truly born through a love of movement and public art. I am now seeking a way to give back to those who have invested countless hours and resources to bring this project to fruition, and I am grateful for any support you are willing to provide.
