It’s almost time!

Hello friends! I leave for my trip in a little over a week, Fri Nov 1st. I’m leaving early and sharing a stay with one of my classmates. We’re staying in Panajachel at Lake Atitlan. We’ll be taking a natural dye class together on Sat then heading to Antigua for the week of the class. Because of your generous donations, my class and lodging have all been paid for. I can’t express how grateful I am for your support!

Deposit Update

Hi and thank you all for your support! We are $525 short of our first payment due for our Nov class. Please help us share the campaign far and wide! Thank you for supporting independant artists.

Who we are:

Hi! My name is Jaime Rosegren and I'm a Fiber Artist and small business owner. I have a local yarn shop and textile arts workshop space in Avondale Estates, GA. We focus on local, regional, and US made fibers, yarns, and supplies. We teach classes in fiber and textile arts. I teach Knitting, Crochet, Hand Spinning, Natural Dyeing, and Tapestry & Rigid Heddle Weaving. My cohort, Sophie Bugner, works at my shop and teaches Sewing, Macrame, Knitting, Crochet, & Inkle Loom Weaving. We are both avid learners and place emphasis on learning traditional crafts from Indigenous teachers. We hope to utilize this knowledge to expand access to traditional practices by teaching within our community. Our shop is community focused and we believe Art should be accessible to all.

Our Ask
My cohort, Sophie, and I want to travel to Guatemala and study traditional back strap weaving from the master weavers at Kakaw Designs. We are planning a 5 day intensive workshop in Antigua in order to fully immerse ourselves in the process. We are fundraising for any and all funds to help with airfare, accommodations, and the class cost. We need to submit our class cost final payment by September. Any help towards our costs is greatly appreciated.

Cost Breakdown:

Class: $650 per person
Lodging: $600
Airfare: $1200
Food & Misc: $300
