Five years ago, in the middle of a global crisis, a group of improvisers, educators, artists, activists, and mental health advocates came together with a simple idea: What if we could play our way into healing, connection, and change?
From that spark, Global Play Brigade (GPB) was born - a global movement committed to reimagining mental health, education, and grassroots activism through the power of play.
Today, GPB has grown into a global community spanning 100+ countries and hosting over 600 playshops that connects thousands of people through play, improvisation and creativity. We have participants from China, Nigeria, Argentina, Ukraine, Serbia, Israel, Kuwait, Gibraltar, Peru, Japan, the United States and the UK, and we’re just getting started.
As we celebrate 5 years of PLAY, we invite you to help shape the next five.
Your donation of $5 will directly support our work in:
Mental Health: Hosting free, global Playshops to reduce isolation, anxiety, and trauma.
Education: Creating playful learning spaces for people of all ages and races.
Grassroots Activism: Empowering local communities to tell their stories and lead change through theater, storytelling, and art.
Training and mentorship for emerging leaders in play
In five years, we’ve learned that it can indeed change the world. In a world full of pain, poverty, and polarization, play reminds us we are human, creative, and connected.
We invite you to give $5, $50, $500, or $5000 to celebrate 5 years of growth and to help us keep making a difference.
Celebrate GPB@5 by giving back. And help us spread the word!
