#What We've Done!
Hashtag The Show was able to take the funds raised in our winter campaign and begin production on a pilot of three hilarious episodes! With this, we hired a production crew and cast of 80% women and 95% people of color to bring these stories to life. All of this possible thanks to our new family of donors, we cannot thank you all enough!
In our slideshow above see stills from the production of skits #MyDietistheOnlyDiet, #Momamomamoma and #HalloweenSoWhite
*Special thanks to our DP (Dir of Photography) Jimmy Xie for the amazing stills

#Who We Are
For those just joining our crew, #HashtagTheShow is a sketch comedy web series about the painful reality we live in and the awkward existence it creates. Acted out in live action "hashtags," the series is a cultural commentary on society from a POC (People of Color) point of view.
#What's Next?
Since putting together a stellar crew and filming three skits in two days, we have decided to bring our work to the festival circuit. We hope to generate some buzz and funds to then film the full first season of skits in Summer of 2019. We have submitted to New York Web Fest and will hear back in mid September. In the meantime, we will be submitting to Sundance, SXSW(South by Southwest) American Black Film Festival and Women in Comedy Film Festival to name a few.
#What We Need
A part from our fantastic Actors and Crew on set, we still have post production costs to cover. Our fabulous editor Cierra Pacheco has been tirelessly working to make our skits perfect, and create that comedy gold timing that is - oh so important. Although we want to pay closer to her regular wage as possible, after all she is an Emmy award winning editor! We need your help to pay Cierra what she is worth, pay our designer Anissa for her graphics work, and to help build our website. In addition we will need funds to cover the many festival submission fees, which can be anywhere from $80 - $120 per festival!
#We are raising $1500 to cover, our editor, graphic designer, and festival fees
#Community
We are in love with the community we have been building. A band of actors of color who worked for long hours, a stipend and for the love of the script and comedy. A crew who is psyched about the work so much they can't wait to do more work with us, and donors like you, who are change makers by creating these opportunities for cast and crews of color to get their comedy narratives out there. We hope this not only provides the therapeutic laughs for audiences, but is a place where people of color in the business can shine.
