Welcome to Each 1 Fund 1, an initiative under my non-profit, How to Do Better. This campaign is designed to support white people in their journey toward healthier, more effective conversations about race. Through tax-deductible donations, we aim to make anti-racism education accessible to those ready to engage deeply with this work.

The name "Each 1 Fund 1 draws inspiration from the powerful tradition of "Each One Teach One," which has deep roots in Black communities. This tradition began during slavery, a time when it was illegal for Black people to learn to read. Despite the dangers, those who learned would teach another, ensuring that knowledge and empowerment spread, one person at a time.

By supporting this campaign, you’re not just making a donation—you’re participating in that same spirit of community and empowerment. Just as "Each One Teach One" helped uplift a community, "Each 1 Fund 1” is about supporting anti-racism education and helping others grow in understanding and action.

I’m Maya, raised in a very black home, in a very white environment, biculturality is my native tongue. As a Cultral Fluency Mentor with years of experience guiding individuals through meaningful discussions on race and equity. My focus is on teaching people how to have healthy and constructive conversations about race, moving beyond surface-level understanding to truly impactful actions.
