WHAT
Howl For Change: The Live-Recorded Podcast & YouTube Event Series is an event series that revolves around a live recording of a talk and audience Q&A with filmmakers, content creators, artists, advertising geniuses, studio heads, activists, and any other individual actively using storytelling and media; including traditional and new media plus social media and audience generated; to shape the cultural narrative and create positive impact.
Our guests will include such storytellers as Manushka Magloire from Afro Punk, Ted Hope from Amazon Studios, and Courtney D. Cogburn from The Columbia School of Social Work and creator of 1000 Cut Journey.
The talk is structured as a one-on-one discussion with a moderator. Sometimes we will make an exception and invite a duo to join us. But we want to keep it small and intimate. We will focus on our centralized topic and how this applies to our guest and their work. We will explore what brought our guests to do what they do; the insights they have gathered along the way; if and why they believe being a storyteller is important and impactful if they used their approach before joining their current project/company; and others along those lines. We want to have this be an enticing conversation less of a talk.
The conversation is followed by about 10 minutes of questions from audience members. After the Q&A, we invite everyone to stay for a bit and mingle, network, make friends and meet the speaker/s, as well as interact with a site-specific immersive media installation and view other media content related to our guest/s. Our goal is to build a supportive community of storytelling change-makers beyond the event series through our Howl For Change network.
The event series will be hosted between NYC and LA on a monthly basis. We anticipate the entire event to be around two hours give or take depending on the space availability and crowd size.
We want to ensure that everyone can attend our event series. For that reason, we do not charge a fixed ticket price but ask attendees to enter any amount and pay what they'd like to attend an event.
