Season one of i’m so happy for you!!!!!! follows Chima, Cam, Hannah, and Alex, who have been best friends since they joined the same college improv group. But when Alex books the lead in The Bachelorette: The Musical (The Bachelorette Musical) on Broadway, the news sends the other three into a tailspin. As they grind it out at open mics, comedy classes, and rehearsals for a one-woman show about Phyllis Schlafly, the trio has to reconcile being excited for their friend with sort of wishing she would get hit by a bus.
Season two begins months after the events of season one – The Bachelorette: The Musical has closed, and the four friends are starting to play weird little bars as an indie improv group. Alex is back to auditioning for her next role, and Chima is reeling from a breakup. But when Hannah and Cam get absorbed in a remount of Hannah’s one-woman show about Phyllis Schlafly — now in competition with a one-man show about Robert Moses — it threatens to tear the group apart. With new commitments pulling them apart, will the group still be able to come together like they used to?
