It’s Not Fucking Church, Quinn satirizes the extreme lengths America’s wealthiest students will go to for a spot at an elite university. Set in the wake of the "Varsity Blues" college admissions scandal, the film takes aim at the children of the 1%, exploring how they navigate the fear of their unknown future.
It’s Not Fucking Church, Quinn features an ensemble cast of four comically out of touch and individually unlikeable female characters, offering a fresh take on Gen Z’s ultra-privileged students and the evolving landscape of college admissions. Since the widely publicized Varsity Blues admissions scandal where wealthy parents and celebrities bribed schools and paid for SAT results, all that’s changed are the tactics. Today’s wealthy teens may no longer be paying upfront for admission but instead they’re funneling money into expensive personal coaches and starting nonprofits or podcasts to appear entrepreneurial and exceptional. The film uses Gen Z’s reliance on ‘manifestation’ and versions of witchcraft to spotlight the strange desperation of those who have everything yet still feel entitled to more.
