About the Show
Fireside Frights is a sketch comedy series based on the horror anthology television shows we loved as kids, like Goosebumps or Are You Afraid of the Dark?
It follows a group of children telling scary stories around a campfire, with each story devolving into an absurd sketch, each in their own unique world. Throughout the series you'll see a werewolf transforming prematurely, a group of girls summoning a sexy demon, and a household learning about the dangers of marijuana.
Most sketches are planned for weekly release starting in the Fall of 2026, with the exception of one, which will be completed and released in 2027. Once this final short film is completed, all sketches will be compiled to make a feature film which will be released and submitted to festivals.

Are You Afraid of Scary Stories To Tell in the Dark (That Will Give You GOOSEBUMPS?!)
Many sketches to be featured in Fireside Frights were first written for a show called Are You Afraid of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (that Will Give You Goosebumps?!) and were performed live for the Contemporary Theatre Company's 2024 Springboard season. Below are several images from the production.
Girls Night
One sketch featured in the live show was "Girls Night", about a group of girls gathering to have a sleepover and do other feminine things when they summon a powerful demon. A co-writer of the live show, Justin Peters, chose to adapt this sketch with the original writer, Sibyl Weber, as the senior thesis for his film/media B.F.A. at the University of Rhode Island. The result was the same chaotic, energetic, hilarity that you can expect to see from Fireside Frights.
About the Artists
Fireside Frights is produced by Kafka in a Dress, a collective of creatives dedicated to providing a space for newer artists to thrive and treating all involved with the respect they deserve. It was established in 2024 and has hosted several live performances, including The Fear is Becoming Normal in FringePVD 2025.
