Our first production at Lone Star Theatre Co. (Lone Star Media) aims to: provide opportunities for an all Latine/BIPOC cast, crew and creative/design team. We will explore National Themes that currently impact Indigenous Immigrants at our southern borders, how generational trauma can be explored and the effects capitalism has had on our society (and possibly, space!).
The play, Aztec Pirates, Part One: The Insignificance of Life on Mars by David Davila, has been in development through 10 minute showings, developmental readings, staged readings and digital readings. The next step is to fully realize the show in a theatre with light and sound design, fight and intimacy coordination and rehearsals with our talented latine actors.
The producing team is a passionate group of artists who have been attached to the play's message and story for 7 years. We are ready to bring this show to audiences! But, we need your help! Donate to our company to help us bring a piece of the latine diaspora to New York City audiences. All donations are going to production costs (cast, crew, theatre rental, expenses and marketing initiatives). Our Budget + Profit & Loss Statement (P&L) will be public.
Producing ensemble members are (in alphabetical order): Alexandra Castro (she/ella), Ollie Corchado (he/el), Lillian Andrea De León (she/ella they/elle) and Maria Isabella Rojas (she/ella).
“Our stories deserve to be told. Storytelling holds the power to educate, inspire, empower, and heal our communities. If today’s theatre makers won’t allow us the space, we will create our own. We are the next generation of theatre makers and we can’t wait to share our stories with you.” -Alexandra Castro
