Saved by the 10 Commandments is a fictitious story inspired by real events. So some things might seem a bit familiar, but it's just a coincident. The story follows a woman, Melinda, from childhood to her golden years - the time when we can look back with 20-20 hindsight.
The play is FREE to the public.

We see Melinda, a woman of deep faith, as she faces one of the most painful experiences of her life. It’s raw, honest, and deeply moving—because at its heart, it’s a story about people, real struggles, and the strength it takes to stand firm when your world is shaken. If you’ve ever faced heartbreak, had your faith tested, or had to choose between bitterness and grace—this story will resonate with you.
Bio
I am an actress of stage and screen. At my heart, I love making people smile. I like to promote great attitudes, confidence and inspiration. I love projects that inspire people. And I love creating. When I want something, I always stop and ask the question, "What do I have?" And I start from there. My mother always told me, "Take what you got and make what you want." That's what started me with writing my book and helping others to write theirs. I have done numerous commercials over the years. I have performed in many plays and I have played a senior citizen for over 25 years. I have appeared in various TV shows and feature films. I have created 2 solo shows. The first was based on my book, "30 Days to Life-poetic expressions and musings." The second is a play that I produced called, "My Life is not My Own , "- an inspirational play about Harriet Tubman. Saved by the !0 Command is my first full out production that involves other actors. We were in the middle of putting this show together before it registered with me that I was producing a play. I just wanted to create a community of people coming together and doing something inspiring and loving it. I just got caught up in the enthusiasm of people being excited. And I am so moved by them. They were smiling and it made my heart glad. Once it hit me that I was producing a show, I embraced it. No turning back. "Fear, you're not welcome here." We were all committed to producing a passion project. Along the way, we decided to have free admission for everyone and ask the public for donations. In this way, everyone can come see the show. That ought to produce a whole lot of smiles. I have worked with Florence Mills Productions and I worked with the Harlem Theatre Company before it closed. In both instances, I worked productions, marketing and behind the scenes.I enjoy helping people succeed.
Team
My creative team, Crystal and April Powell are the creators of the sketch comedy Hollywood Tonight which has been growing in popularity in Westchester County, NY. Althea assisted me in writing the script for Saved by the 10 Commandments. She is so creative and funny. Crystal just has a great eye and has been very valuable in the productions of Hollywood Tonight as well as contributing to the refinement of My Life is Not My Own. Julian Varner who is in charge of music for the play is an accomplished musician and engineer. He is so amazing.
My cast includes age range from toddler to 80+. I am moved by their commitment and joy in working on this play which is free to the public. We have over 25 volunteer cast and crew members. They are excited about it and I love that they are doing it from the heart; for the joy of it.
