Bodies and Brush Strokes includes two evening-length performances, August 28th and 29th 2026, featuring original choreography inspired by visual art, as well as a free community drawing class with a gallery showing prior to each performance. Our company is an Artist in Residence at Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble and both performances and gallery showings will take place in their Auditorium Theater
This project involves over 150 hours of rehearsals, 10hours of community classes and collaborations with visual artists, film makers, drag performers and dancers.
Bodies and Brush Strokes shows the connection between subject, creator and observer; and how these lines can be blurred and overlap one another within the greater arts community. By providing free community art classes and producing a program of works which incorporate a wide array of mediums; we encourage community members to access art as audience members and discover their own creative abilities. We hope that by giving the audience a chance to participate in the creative process, they will connect with our collaborators on a deeper level. Breaking outside of the box of audience/subject/creator empowers you to be bold and express yourself along side the artists of Mandy Milligan Movement Project.
Your donations will go directly to the artists who will be sharing their creativity and talents in this production. Please consider supporting us in this endeavor!
