🌟 Support Disability Representation at Chicago's Latinx Contemporary Movement Festival 🌟
I'm thrilled to share that I have been selected as one of the choreographers for the inaugural Latinx Contemporary Movement Festival in Chicago. This festival is a groundbreaking moment for our community, uplifting the brilliance and diversity of Latinx voices in contemporary dance.
As a disabled choreographer and storyteller, I am committed to ensuring that disability is not only represented but celebrated on this stage. To make that possible, I am launching this crowdfunding campaign to raise funds that will:
- Cover accommodations and travel for the dancers and me
- Creative process expenses include rehearsal space, dancers' payment, music licensing, and costumes.
- Administrative staff payment
- Photography of the creative process and performance
- Ensure disability representation is visible and valued within the festival
Your contribution, no matter the size, will help ensure that this historic festival includes the voices, bodies, and artistry of disabled people. Together, we can affirm that our stories belong in every space where art and culture thrive.
🙏🏽 I invite you to join me in this journey—donate, share, and help spread the word. Let's move toward a future where inclusion is not optional, but essential.
Be well,
Mark Travis Rivera
