What are we accomplishing?

Thanks to your generous support, we have been able to create a 90 minute immersive tap dance performance piece, Tap..Rhythm…and Roll! which has toured to professional venues and in-studio conventions over the past year. The impact on audiences, particularly students, has been tremendous.

What is next?

Next steps -

1. To add live music! We are working with a fabulous drummer /vocalist to add this next component, and to create a second full length work which tells the trajectory of the tap shoe - from drums, to feet, to boots, to sand dancing, to bottle caps, to taps! Working title - Two on the Floor. As always, the goal is to educate and inspire and well as to entertain.

2.  To cast a wider net to presenters by joining the Association of Performing Arts Professionals and participating in their 2027 NYC conference.  This will enhance our visibility to presenters nationwide, and give us a huge boost in our availability to book our performances into professional venues.

How will the funds be used?

Funds raised will be used to commission live music to be composed and arranged, to rent studio space, and to pay some amazing tap dance artists, musicians, and videographers to create our second full length work - Two on the Floor.  And it will allow Measuring Time Dance Collective to join the Association of Performing Arts Professionals, get a space at their national conference, and showcase our performance to presenters from all over the country.
