NEW CIRCLE HAS A NEW SPACE

For nearly a decade, New Circle Theatre Company has been a home for new play development, nurturing over 150 original works, staging 37 productions, and helping more than 50 plays reach publication and hundreds of stages around the world. Our intimate black box, The Sandbox, served as a creative home where playwrights, actors, and directors came together to craft fresh, impactful stories that engaged and moved audiences.

Now, after the loss of that beloved Sandbox, we have a chance to construct New Circle's next chapter. We have a new space and are raising funds to establish our new artistic home and community hub—a versatile space that will support expanded workshops, readings, and performances, while fostering deeper collaboration among artists and connection with audiences.

YOUR SUPPORT IS VITAL TO OUR FUTURE

Formerly a restaurant on 51st and 3rd Avenue in Manhattan, the space offers significant upgrades from our old one: first-floor access, two restrooms, ample space for a check-in area and vestibule, and nearly double the useable square footage. Our goal is to begin holding meetings in the new venue this September, and begin workshops and productions soon after.

The space is full of possibility - but it is not yet a theater. Your contribution will help us complete essential renovations, including removing outdated fixtures, upgrading electrical systems, repairing floors, building flexible staging and seating, and creating practical areas for storage and dressing rooms.

By giving today, you’re not just donating—you’re investing in a legacy of artistic innovation and community-building that elevates new voices and amplifies stories that matter. At New Circle, artists find a home, and audiences do, too. Audience response is an essential part of our development process, helping to shape and strengthen our work. It is your support that allows the continuation of the extraordinary tradition of New Circle Theatre Company as both an artistic home for our growing community and a launchpad for plays that captivate hearts around the globe.
