Announcing our 2021 Fundraiser!

Do you want to contribute to adding new works to the trumpet repertoire? Making competitions financially accessible to young pre-professional trumpet students? Building an online community of professional trumpet players, composers, and students?

We are excited to announce our fundraising event for the Next Generation Trumpet Competition (NGTC)! NGTC is an online competition for 19-25 year old trumpet players featuring newly commissioned etudes. The competition consists of three rounds, each adjudicated by a panel of professional trumpet players and composers from our 2021 NGTC faculty roster.

Your financial support is essential for NGTC to grow and expand, as we are at a pivotal stage to take NGTC to the next level. With your support we can continue to:

1. Commission new etudes for trumpet from a diverse range of composers.
2. Keep the competition accessible to students (19-25) by keeping the entry fees low. (The current entry fee is $35, including PDFs of the etudes composed for the competition. Our goal is to eliminate or significantly lower entry fees for future competitions, depending on the success of our fundraising efforts.)
3. Grow our three monetary prizes for the winners of NGTC.
4. Compensate our artists at industry rates for their work with NGTC.
5. Cover our operational expenses, expand as an organization, and broaden our community outreach programs.

You can donate today in one of two ways:
1. By credit card online at:
https://fundraising.fracturedatlas.org/next-generation-trumpet-competition

2. By check via a postal service nearest you
     1. Checks should be made payable to Fractured Atlas, with ‘Next Generation Trumpet Competition’ in the memo line
     2. Please send contributions to:

About the Competition:

Our first edition brought together 39 participants from across the world, and our NGTC artists hailed from leading musical institutions and ensembles from around the United States. This year, the competition will take place in the fall, across the month of October. Leading up to the competition, we will host four online sessions for our participants led by our artists. These masterclasses will cover the competition music, entrepreneurship, collaboration, and trumpet playing. The competition also includes a separate session focusing on mindfulness and Alexander Technique.

Participants will be given a PDF of the new etudes as well as access to a private Facebook group where they can pose questions and interact with our artists. Our trumpet artists will record video premieres of the new works, and these videos will be available on our website, as well as shared on our social media accounts. Virtual social sessions will also be held to bring together the NGTC competition participants and faculty roster as a community.
