Arts & Humanities Education, for All!
Night School Bar makes the arts and humanities accessible to everyone. Through scholarships and sliding scale-tuition, we create dynamic learning communities that bring ideas and friendships to life.
In a time when higher education is being reshaped by automation, rising costs, and cuts to the humanities, Night School Bar offers adult learners an alternative: small, affordable, and meaningful learning experiences rooted in real connection.
Why We’re Asking for Your Support
We’re asking you to help fund our scholarship program in 2026.
At Night School Bar, we believe education should inspire curiosity, not impose debt. Approximately 80% of our students pay discounted tuition, with 20% of those receiving full scholarships. As an independent, community-funded program, we need to raise $20,000 this December to continue offering low-cost, sliding-scale programming.
Every contribution directly supports students and sustains fair, living-wage work for our instructors.
If you’re interested in becoming a long-term donor or partner, we’d love to hear from you at nightschoolbar@gmail.com.
Our Year in Review
Since launching in 2020, Night School Bar has grown into a vibrant community of more than 6,500 students worldwide. This year alone, we offered over 90 classes, including 15 completely free one-day sessions, on topics ranging from Resistance and Revolution in Latin America to Reimagining Intimacy, and from Cults in Film and Theory to Melville’s Moby-Dick.
We’ve expanded our course offerings to include Latin American Studies, Religious Studies, and Urban Studies and added new faculty in Psychology, Anthropology, and Documentary Studies. We’ve also deepened our music programming and introduced new writing intensives and yearlongs. And we’re thrilled to be planning our first study abroad program in Mexico City for 2026.
Thank You for Being Part of This Community
Night School Bar doesn’t have an endowment, corporate sponsor, or public funding. Everything we do is made possible by community members and lifelong learners like you.
