Pilot Episode for Nora The Piano Cat's New Musical Web Series
A fundraiser to rehearse, film, edit, and release the pilot episode for Nora's new musical web series.
Nora is a real-life piano-playing cat and internet star whose combined YouTube videos have garnered more than 40 million views. NORA THE MUSICAL will be an episodic musical web series performed by a stellar ensemble of Broadway and Off-Broadway performers - singing and dancing their way through Nora's extraordinary life.
In the pilot episode Nora will jump up on her piano bench, play a few notes, and then magically morph into an actor telling us the story of the fateful day she met her future family - piano teacher Betsy and artist Burnell - when they wandered into PetSmart to buy food, litter and treats for their 5 cats (Nora's future siblings). And how Nora (using her magical powers) hypnotized Betsy into adopting her by singing her a mesmerizing song with a chorus of 3 kitten backup singers!
Nora@Piano.Crop.jpg1.27 MB Future episodes in the series (each episode featuring a new, original song) will celebrate real chapters from Nora's life: how she learns to play the piano and quickly becomes YouTube's first feline celebrity; how she handles her sudden rise to fame; how she deals with her annoying siblings and her quirky, eccentric piano teacher mom Betsy; and how she profoundly impacts and inspires the lives of Betsy's piano students and their families.

All three are long-time creatives, with many award-winning musical theatre productions and films to their credit. They (with Nora's blessing) are thrilled to come together to explore and celebrate the intense bond between humans and their pets, the rise of social media and its profound influence on all our lives, and the joyful, magical, healing power of music and art.
