North Star Dance Project is raising funds to THRIVE through the end of season FIVE!
Help us to cover venues, staffing, printing, costuming, marketing and more by making your tax-deductible donation! It is an overused phrase, but any small amount is a HUGE help to us. We remain a small, community-oriented dance company that relies heavily on our patrons and donors alike to continue providing performance and training opportunities to our company members, constellation dancers, and to dancers all across North Texas.
 
Illuminating the Sky:
So far this season, we have widened our community of movers in big ways. We have started opening our company's classes biweekly for dancers of all backgrounds, levels, and abilities to join for a low cost. Each open class is taught by a rotating cast of our own company members, allowing us to share a wide variety of movement styles all in one place. In addition, we began a new initiative this season- our Constellation program. Constellation dancers are invited to take class and shadow choreography to continue training with no cost at all as a way to continue their journey towards more performance opportunities. By breaking down the financial barriers of dance training, we help dancers around the DFW metroplex continue their creative passion in a safe and inclusive environment.

Up Next..
Each year, we platform the creative voices of all our company members through choreographic and performance opportunities. This season, seven of our dancers have chosen to create work, and all eleven of us will share the stage together at several events in the Spring.

Most recently, Alexa Guajardo's work, That is the Question, was selected to perform at 254 Dance Fest in January of 2025. The work features 9 dancers who will all travel to participate in the festival and share a performance stage with some of North Texas' top dance companies, artists, and new talents. This will be North Star's second consecutive season attending 254; back in April 2024, Audrey Kennedy's work, Modern Drift, was selected and perform as a part of the festival.

FIVE!
Our year-end showcase is the biggest event of every season, and this year is no different. FIVE! will occur on Monday, June 30th of 2025. We will be featuring fourteen pieces choreographed by seven of our company members in an evening-length performance. Additionally, North Star Dance Project is inviting individual dance artists from around the DFW metroplex to join us onstage with their original choreographic works. Sharing our platform with new voices who may not yet have the resources or audience to produce themselves is an exciting new step towards our biggest goal: creating a world where dance performance is accessible to ALL.

North Star Dance Project's mission is to platform refined dance works that entertain and inspire. Our company provides space for dancers who have careers outside of performance. We are committed to paving the way as a professional dance company for movers & makers that also hold other passions & careers. Our company members are teachers, judges, parents, culinary professionals, and so much more. We believe that dance is for everyone, and that every voice (and body) is valuable. We welcome diversity in all its forms and celebrate the unique voices of our artists and supporters. Further, we assert that dance-making and performance should be accessible for artists and patrons alike. We platform excellent dancers regardless of their educational journeys or length of their performance experience, and offer our audiences approachable movement that moves.

Your Donations at Work:
With your help reaching this goal, North Star Dance Project will
-Continue offering our classes and constellation programs at low & no-cost for many more dancers.
-Have partially funded production costs for FIVE! including marketing, staffing, programs, costuming, and artist compensation.
-Research and plan new ways to platform more dancers from across the metroplex
-Submit more of our dancers' works to be considered for festivals and showcases around the state.
