Hello, My name is Omri Drumlevich. I am a Dancer, Choreographer, and Filmmaker.
I am also a father, a son, a lover, and a friend, and fulfilling all these roles throughout my life has led me to create my current project titled The Art of Walking Away.
The Art of Walking Away is ultimately about relationships, but more specifically it’s about how in almost every relationship in our lives, from our first relationship with our mother to the relationship we have with ourselves, the yearning for intimacy and closeness increases as we all keep drifting apart from each other over time and space.
The Project currently performs with a 32-minute live dance piece for 8 dancers while we raise the resources needed to extend the piece into a full evening of live dance (60 minutes).
Over the coming year, the project will meet in several residencies to keep developing the existing material as well as continue to create new and exciting moments to enrich the dramatic arc of the piece.
The funds raised through this campaign will go directly to pay the artists involved, as well as pay for their flights, accommodation, and per-diem. The funds will also pay for the varying production needs to enable the ensemble to tour with the piece and prepare for the project's next steps which include the production of a narrative dance film based on the choreographic materials from the piece, and more.
