Opera Henriette presents The Fairy Queen
Saturday, Sept. 2, 7 pm., Redeemer Chapel in Baltimore
Our team and purpose
Opera Henriette, a new Baltimore-based professional Concert Baroque Opera group, seeks to introduce the public to the delights of early opera. In this project, we present a live performance of a work that was groundbreaking in the infancy of musical theatre in the English-speaking world and that has left an indelible impression on much of the musical theatre world ever since. In such a performance, as well as an informal historical introduction, there is a valuable experience of education as well as pure delight.
How you can help
All contributions will go directly to support the performers and expenses of the production. All of Opera Henriette’s performers are world-class level professionals, and we wish to support them at the level we feel they deserve for this demanding pursuit. We are happy to recognize our donors with a listing in the performance programe, and we offer access to “preferred seating” for the first 10 to donate $50 or more, and a special ‘thank you’ video for donors of $100 or more.
The performers
The all-professional team of musicians includes music director Ted Davis, who brings decades of experience as performer and conductor, singers who boast stellar résumés, including graduate degrees from the Peabody Conservatory (Julie Bosworth and Claire Galloway, sopranos; Andrew Sauvageau, tenor; Ross Tamaccio, baritone), and skilled orchestra players performing on period instruments (Annie Loud and Leslie Nero, violins; Marta Howard, viola; Lori Barnett, cello).
