Patient 13 is a critically-acclaimed dark comedy solo show about love, cancer, and magic mushrooms;. AND about trust, self-love, connection, and finding humor in darkness. My TRUE story. The Blurb:
"I got rid of all the toxic people, and there was no one left." Chronically single in NYC, Gail suddenly faces a life-altering diagnosis which sends her on a mind-bending trip through an unusual relationship, questionable advice, and hilarious introspection. As her life unravels, she is selected for an FDA-approved clinical study that gave (prescription) psychedelics to cancer survivors with anxiety and depression.
I was patient 13 of 29 participants. The study blazed a trail for the potential legalization of psychedelics (magic mushrooms) for medical use.
The show has played in small theaters in NYC and Los Angeles, winning awards from LA Progressive and LA Hidden Gems awards, and garnering 5 star reviews. Audience members told us: “This show helped me;" "it said what I could not;" "more people need to see it; "so funny...I left with hope.”
Your donation will help us take the next step: the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland - the world's largest arts festival, the 3rd largest ticketed event in the world. Patient 13 will be playing every day at the prestigious ZOO Playground 2 August 7-30th. Edinburgh is where solo shows:
- Reach audiences from across the globe
- Get reviews from national and international press
- Attract presenters, producers, and more bookings
- Are "discovered" for TV and film deals (Fleabag, Baby Raindeer..)
- Form new partnerships to take a real step toward a long life
It’s an extraordinary opportunity — and (hate to admit it) a new dream come true.
But it's expensive, estimated at $35,000. Your support covers budgeted costs like:
- Registration and venue fees: $7,000
- Travel $3,000
- Accommodation $4,000
- Marketing, press team: $4,800
- Creation/printing fliers, posters: $3000
- Flier and poster distribution: $4,000
- Producer/promoter: $6,700
- Tech crew/production $1,500
- Insurance: $1,000
- Performer fees: $3,000
- Contingency $2,000
Your donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE!
An anonymous generous donor has agreed to match all campaign donations up to $10,000.
Besides this show, your donation:
- Supports innovative ideas and artistic expression
- Raises awareness for promising new mental health treatments and advocates for human-centered medical care
- Encourages bold, human, true storytelling
- Fosters human connection, empathy, and collaboration on a global scale
What can YOU do?
- Donate at any level that feels right. It's tax-deductible !
- Share this with someone who believes in mission-driven true storytelling
- Tell your friends and folks who might want to produce or promote the show
Thank you!
