This October,
Performance Is Alive has the great pleasure of presenting 40 international performance and video artists at
Satellite Art Show NYC. We are fortunate to have this partnership with Satellite Art Show which allows us to ambitiously present both emerging and established performance artists currently working in their field.
Why do we need to raise money?
Performance is Alive is run by Quinn Dukes with support of volunteers and a small team of writers. We produce critical performance reviews, interviews, artist features and live performance events - all of which celebrate the voice of the artist. Bluntly stated, we produce our work without commerce in the equation. In 2019, we became a fiscally sponsored project with Fractured Atlas, allowing us to graciously accept tax deductible donations. Your support will reduce the financial strains in preparing for this event.
Where will the funds raised here go?
Your donations will support the significant costs of participating in an art fair. Specifically, funds raised here will go directly to the artists via artist honorariums and event programming costs (lighting, projection, documentation). If we surpass our $2000 goal, we can also provide travel and lodging stipends for artists joining us outside of NYC.
