Point A is a short film exploring disconnection, friendship, and what brings people outside of themselves.

Two former High school acquaintances, Mason and Alex, set out on a hike under the guise of going out to “re-connect” with nature during lockdown. However, unbeknownst to each other, both men have chosen to go on this trip with things weighing on their minds. They both attempt to show vulnerability but are too withdrawn to make a connection until an unexpected event forces them together.

Why Crowdfunding?
We don’t have the means to fund our own work yet. Much less an on-location shoot with 16mm film. We continue to apply for grants and have already won some (thank you Hampshire College ) but are unable to make up the bulk of the funding through those options. 

So we look to you. The people with a love for intimate cinema. The people who have or had dreams of being a working artist. The people who just want to help us take our first steps into this industry. 

We are looking for 9.2k USD in financing for this short film. This number is an estimated budget that accounts for equipment, locations, crew wages, and more.

On-location shooting and 16mm are very expensive and make up a majority of the budget.

Most films similar in scope ask for at least double the budget. However, we believe with our crew’s expertise we can minimize costs.
